If you’re after a combination of a safari adventure and relaxing beach getaway, all packed into one heck of a destination - this is it. Julia’s well thought out yoga and guided meditation classes were full of variety and adapted to the day’s activities or weather. I liked that she continuously sought out amazing locations for us to roll out our mat or meditate (think sunrise on the beach, rooftop full moon, walking barefoot on the grass, or yoga under a giant baobab tree!).

Katie’s massages were divine, and the little lessons in Ayurvedic practices are still part of my rituals even a month after the retreat. With a small private group, it was quite unlike the other retreats I’ve been to before. This one felt like being with close friends for 10 days. Both Katie and Julia were very organized yet flexible at the same time, you wouldn’t have thought this was their first retreat they’ve hosted ! Lots of cherished memories, fun cultural excursions, great accommodation, top notch food, and fun conversations each night. Will not miss a chance to come back again for the pole pole life :)

When I planned this year, the goals included : visit at least two new countries, get to know other cultures, learn to hear your true desires better, gain new experiences, and find interesting conversations to have. 

I didn't imagine that almost all of these wishes would come true, all in one place while in Africa! 

In addition to the incredible varied yoga and meditation sessions from Julia and magical massage from Katie, we had a packed program, authentic introduction to Kenya, it's people, culture and nature. It was so deep for words to describe. 

This was my first retreat and thank you so much to Asili retreats, for making it so unique. We all had different levels of practice, but Julia created the space that everyone was comfortable and could really enjoy the process.

I recently had the most rejuvenating Ayurveda massage from Katie, that transported me to a calm meditative space. What stood out most was her thoughtful attention to my problem areas, especially on my shoulders where I carry a lot of tension. I left feeling lighter, relaxed and more aligned than I’ve felt in a long time. Grateful for such a healing experience, it was exactly what I needed!

Katie really gave me so much pain relief with her Ayurveda massage, and then the Shiatsu massage really helped stretch out all my muscles. She has an amazing feel for the body and never once did I feel unsafe or in too much pain. 10/10 would recommend.

Julia's yoga sessions go deep. Being one of her students you can really sense that she has been to India multiple times to learn the art of yoga directly from its origin. That's what I like best about her yoga. Knowing and feeling that I am actually doing real yoga. Furthermore, she sometimes puts you into kind of a trance throughout her wisely chosen repetitions of certain exercises. She guides you through a session making you feel comfortable and aware of your own body....
